Hint ‘ums Vol. 16

Back again for another puzzle! First, before we begin, can I say how crazy it is that tomorrow is Thanksgiving?! Sheesh. Okay, that’s off my chest.

Now, sharing relatable stories, recipes and DIY hacks is something that we as humans have valued since the beginning of time. And one outlet has encompassed all of these since it’s birth: Blogging. We’re friends, yet we’ve never met. We’re family, but not by blood. Some of us are kind of like coworkers, but never in the same company! Blogs are superhouses. Like lunch with a friend everyday; catching up over coffee every afternoon. You’re never alone when you’re part of a blog family.

That’s what I hope you feel here, too! So, in honor of the great invention of blogs and the irreplaceable connection they bring, here’s a quiz on them! A Hint ‘ums puzzle quiz!!

Let’s get started!

Here we begin at question 1. “A blog often has a personalized _______ address.”
This one I’ll let you get on your own 🙂 We’re starting off easy 🤪

Now I’ve probably said too much 😬🤐

I mean, they do more than this, but who proof-reads and makes the proper changes before submission or printing?

7. “Someone who hops on a blog as a guest to write.”
When you add to something and participate, or donate to a cause, or support a group in making something happen, you are a c-________.
…Yes!

8. “Bloggers often share the things they do for fun that nourish their lives. It can be paid or unpaid, but it’s often more of a pasttime.”
What’s something that you do on the side? What’s it called when you enjoy something, but it isn’t your career? It can be a tinkering, even something you engage in regularly, but you don’t use it as your main source of income.
…Right. And it’s pluralized in the puzzle. 🙂

9. “Some bloggers are passionate about ________. The way you live, and supporting it. This topic covers posts about diet, excercise, religion and other ways of living.”
This is where those hacks, recipes, and workout routines come in. They actually have their own category name that they are commonly known by: ________ bloggers.

10. “Stories of ones own life and experiences are _______ blog posts.”
What’s a word that means Specific to you?

11. “Even at PoppinTalk.com, we’ve written about work/life ________.”
This one is pretty self-explanatory 🤪

12. “Those articles with everyday tips are sometimes really fantastic. We’re talking life-____.”
Come on, now; tips and tricks to do something better or easier. 😉

13. “How to cook your favorite meal–or try a new one!”
Pull out grandma’s old _________ book and cook up a yummy something!
Great! And it’s pluralized in the puzzle 🙂

14. “Tidbits about the day, soul-searching finds, and random notes.”
I’ll hand it to you, this one’s tough. If I’m thinking, I’m having ______. When I post them, they might seem either random or revolutionary to people. They originate in the mind 😉

15. “Kind of like categories or category titles. They’re what you write your pieces about.”
If I write about elephants, my _____ might be animals, safari, or simply elephants.
In school, you were given a ______ to write about, in English class. Or, a speaker might come and speak on a particular ______.

Whew! I certainly congratulate any of you who completed this puzzle without the hints, but I mean, geez I congratulate you if you even got the hints!

I tried to be helpful with this one, because when I went back to go do this one as editor, I was stumped a few times. Thesaurus and Google search helps with this one 😉
